Great place, very small space, bar space for maybe 10 and then indoor seating for maybe 15 and then a sweet patio space that is larger than the inside. Bartender was very cool, polite, helpful. I didn't personally care for the drinks I got, but I think that's just my preferences and not because they made a bad drink objectively. Not going to unseat my favorite local bar but I'm sure it is lots of peoples' favorite (and could be yours too!) as it is a really cool spot.

Great cocktails.. very well made. Security is tight so don’t try anything. Booths are intimate and bathrooms really clean. Didn’t eat, but cocktails were creative and made by pros.

I just spontaneously stopped in and we never left until closing time. Lol. Awesome atmosphere. Great bartenders and super friendly may I add! Amazing crafted cocktails. My bestfriend and I were very pleased. I highly recommend.

A hidden gem! Had never been here before. This is a cocktail bar attached to the Belle of Dayton distillery. You can try drinks made with their distilled spirits or any other spirits they may have. The drinks were great, the space was wonderful and it wasn't too busy! They have an outdoor seating area as well. As an FYI no food is available. We will definitely be coming back!!!

The Van Buren Room is an intimate and wonderful little new bar in downtown Dayton. The bartenders are all very awesome, friendly and knowledgeable. I had a shot of smooth and strong Japanese whiskey and a delicious cocktail known as "Dusk to Dawn." Van Buren Room shares its location with the Belle of Dayton Distillery, and as such they have Belle's fantastic spirits to imbibe. And not for nothing, they have possibly the best restrooms in the city.

​Let me be unequivocally clear: I am not easily impressed. In a world saturated with fleeting trends and pedestrian attempts at "mixology," my palate has grown, shall we say, discerning. For nearly a decade, I have considered the Van Buren Room my sanctuary, frequenting its bar several times a week, and in all that time, my initial assessment has only been reinforced: this establishment is not merely the best in Dayton, but a standard-bearer against which all others, near and far, should be judged. And invariably, they all fall short. ​To speak of the cocktails is to speak of true artistry. I've watched bartenders across the region haphazardly slosh spirits and pre-made syrups into a glass and call it a day. At Van Buren Room, you are witnessing craftsmanship. The spirits selection is a masterfully curated library, the juices are fresh-pressed, the syrups and infusions are conceived and executed in-house with an alchemist's precision. Whether you desire a classic Old Fashioned made with reverential accuracy or one of their own audacious, perfectly balanced creations, the result is always sublime. They don't just make drinks; they compose experiences in a glass. ​Yet, the liquid perfection is only half the equation. The service—oh, the service. Great, dark ambiance with sort of an industrial feel. Service was great and I was surprised to receive such prompt service on a busy Saturday night. The drinks are creative and delicious. Our party ordered a different drink each time, and after sipping all the choices, I can honestly say there wasn't a single one I didn't enjoy. Though my favorite might be "Truth & Knowledge." I'm looking forward to returning for more samples of the menu.
